Top 5 songs by Shawn Mendes you should listen to!

Shawn Mendes is well known Canadian singer and songwriter. He got his fame from posting videos and cover on the vine. He also went on tour with Magcon Boys in 2014-2015 where he caught the attention of a manager Andrew Gertler and signed to Island records. he released his debut self-titled EP in 2014  following this he released his debut album "Handwritten" which helped him become one of the five top artists to have a no.1 debut album before the age of 18. His most famous song "stitches" was top 10 for months in UK and USA. Here are some really underrated and worth listening songs by him.

Roses

Shawn Mendes wrote roses for his second album "illuminate" in 2016. he recently revealed that this song was for her now ex Camila Cabello. this song is about building the courage to tell someone (a girl)  about his feeling for her who is already in a relationship. he knows that it would ruin his friendship with her but he can't keep it to himself anymore. he knows that she loves the person she is in a relationship with and that she is happy with that person and he doesn't wanna risk telling her but he can't hold it in anymore. Fans already suspected that this song was for Camila Cabello back when they weren't even dating.

When You're ready

Shawn Mendes wrote "when you are ready" for his self-titled album released in 2019. Apparently, this was also written for Camila Cabello because at that they were in a situationship. this song is about him waiting patiently for the girl to tell him that she is ready to be with him, to be in a relationship. it's about him waiting to finally hear the words from her which he has been eagerly waiting to hear for a while. I'm not gonna lie this screams shawmila to be together already haha.

Perfectly Wrong

perfectly wrong is a song from his self-titled album "Shawn Mendes". this song is about a toxic relationship where you know you both are toxic to each other but still wanna stay because you still love them. Shawn sings "you're perfectly wrong for me that's why it's hard to leave". he knows that she is no good to her, he knows that they weren't meant to be together but he still finds it hard to move on. this song has to be the saddest and relatable song ever.its really hard to get over a toxic relationship when they leave so many memories behind.

Why

Shawn Mendes wrote"why" for his third album "Shawn Mendes". he explained in an interview that this song is about two people in love with each other but are not able to find the courage or are too stubborn to confess their feelings for each other, so they try to find someone new hoping they can forget about each other but instead it gets worse. it is clear that they are trying to find a distraction so they don't have them on their mind 24/7. this is another situationship kind of song only difference is they both don't know if the other person has feelings for them.

Because I Had You

Shawn Mendes wrote this song for his self-titled album in 2018. Shawn wrote this song about him finding it hard to move on from his ex. he sees her already moved on and already being in another relationship where she is happy. he wants her to be happy but he is jealous because he wanted her to be happy with him. but he decides that it's time for him to move on and find someone new and take her to all the places he used to go with his ex. he tries his best to love her but he couldn't because he has his ex stuck in his mind. the new girl he is with probably thinks that Shawn loves her but he is just using her to move on from his ex.
